Hi! I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciated Kristina taking care of Bijou and Pierre while I was away over the weekend. When Kristina came over for the initial visit, I was impressed with how much the cats seemed to like her--especially Pierre, who is older and pretty anti-social. He warmed up to her quickly, and it really put my mind at ease when I left town, to know they were in such good care! When I came home from my trip, it was so obvious that they had been well taken care of. Their coats had been brushed, and they seemed quite happy. In fact, I don't know if either of them noticed when I returned! The daily reports that Kristina left were great. I was so nice to know how they were doing everyday in my absence! We just love when our Aunt Jet comes to visit! She always takes really good care of us which makes our worry-wart of a mom not stress as much. We all have special needs (oral meds, eye meds, injections, fluids, special diets, etc) and Jet makes sure that Mom and Dad have detailed notes and know what is happening with us. Jet calls and sends emails with updates. When Jet comes in the door, we all come running towards her and Jet's biggest problem is that she only has 2 hands! Normally, us girls will run the other direction and try to hide but not when Jet is here. We are very disappointed when we hear the door open and it is just Mom and Dad returning home. Mom calls Jet "The Cat Whisperer" because of how quickly we all took to her. We even let her medicate us when we need it. She was also very patient with our sister Maggie who needed fluids and could be very difficult and with Colby who gets into everything and causes a lot of trouble. I should have writtten a comment long before this, since we've been clients now for many years! Our first sitter from All Friends was Janie Frenzel and except when she was out on maternity leave, we have requested her every time. She has always taken excellent care of our two cats Cleo and Mimi, as well as keeping the house and mail under control and watering our outside flower garden during her visits to us in the summer. Sadly, our cat Mimi passed away last fall, aged 16, and we received such beautiful sympathy notes from Janie and the All Friends staff. We know our remaining cat Cleo (age 19) will be in good and loving hands with Janie when we take our next vacation soon. I feel like I just hit the pet sitter lottery! My pet sitter Virginia was beyond amazing in every way. When I met her I could tell right away she loved animals and my cats came right up to her – which never happens with strangers. Then she took notes and asked questions about the pets and any special instructions I had. She left me a Welcome Home note explaining her observations with cats while I was away. Then followed up with me to make sure everything was okay with the cats when I returned. While I was away I did not worry at all - I knew my cats were in excellent hands. Meg was my yellow lab's (Rowdy) care-giver during his 2 month stay in the Crystal City area. I am thankful to All Friends Pet Care for sending me Autumn to walk my dog Rollo. He was a rescue and had been abused. He was not trusting, and I wasn't sure if he would allow someone he didn't know to walk him or interact with him. I am thrilled and amazed at how Autumn is with Rollo. He waits by the door for her to come and walk him, and has progressed so much, as far as his fear of others. Vikke and Teddy quickly became friends. Vikke was wonderful! She took the time to bond with Teddy, brought toys to play with him, and made sure that he was a happy kitty. The photos of Teddy playing in our "Welcome Home" note were great - evidence that he truly did well while we were away. In the past when we left Teddy, he's been depressed - did not eat or groom himself - but this time, thanks to Vikke's expert care, he did really well. We were extremely satisfied with Kitty. She was fabulous and the kids seemed very content upon our return. My scaredy cat apparently adopted Danni within 15 minutes. When my front door lock totally died, Danni found the back door key as promised. But when the back screen door was supposed to be unlocked and wasn't, Danni called me right away. She willingly went through the stuff in her car to find a tool (screwdriver) to rip though the screen, she managed to unlock the screen door inside-out, and she overcame the stiff-sticky door itself to get in. Hey! All we see are dogs and cats--you need some guinea pigs! Meg takes very good care of us. She gives us tasty veggies and makes sure we have lots of hay, water, and pellets. Pam and Beth, Just wanted to say how grateful we are to have Karen as our friend and pet sitter. Karen has been looking after our dog Burke for over a year now, since we brought him home as a puppy. Karen has raised Burke as much as we have and even made the transition to a new home with us this past summer, even though it was a few miles away from her usual path. We were particularily grateful to Karen last Thursday when she called me at work to let me know we had a big water leak spanning 3 stories of our home. While giving me up to the minute updates as I drove home, she also did "damage control" and put down initial barriers to the water until we could get home -- and still took care of Burke! As bad as the damage is, it would have been much, much worse by the time we got home if we didn't have Karen. Luke and I will be moving to San Francisco Feb 2nd, and I just wanted to thank you all for the kind attention and love you have given our cats. At several points in your sitting for us, you have cared for Sensei, Irie, Silas, and Kaya. Since that time, Sensei had to be adopted out to a Sunrise Senior Living Facility (where she could finally enjoy life as an " only" cat!), and Silas and Kaya have passed on. I want to let you know how special Nicole is! She took care of our fur babies while we were gone and she did a standout job! I wanted to share my satisfaction with the services of AFPC and Judy Chesley. As a result of my job, I've traveled extensively this past spring and summer and had to leave my cat, Covington, alone for long stretches of time. Judy was very reliable, and it made my numerous absences much less guilt-ridden, knowing that she not only visited my cat as promised, but spent time with her. Although Covington is on the shy side, Judy worked on establishing a relationship with her. Initially my cat would could only be seen from under the sofa or bed. Within a few weeks Judy was able to pet her, brush her and occasionally Covington would even sit on Judy's lap. This is quite an incredible feat given my cat's timid personality. I just wanted to let you know how pleased my husband and I were with the care Janie Frenzel and All Friends Pet Care gave to our dog Cosmo last week. This was the first time we had been away from him (he is 11 months) and had never used a pet sitting service before with our other dog, so we were a little apprehensive at the beginning. Any apprehension we had disappeared after meeting Janie. She is wonderful and we can tell that Cosmo feels the same way about her. When I come home at night, Molly is happy and relaxed. Kim is very flexible and is great at communicating with me about Molly and how she does. And, Molly looks forward to her coming every day. Ayla has a new brother, Zeke! He is about 10 months old and we got him last week from a rescue group. So far Ayla is doing her best to ignore him --unless he has food or a toy she wants. Zeke is a sweet boy who loves to cuddle. We're working on housetraining and basic commands. He's really good at "sit" if there's a treat involved! He's Ayla's size right now (45 pounds) but is still growing. His final size is anyone's guess--maybe 55-60 pounds? Beth showers both dogs with love when she visits every day - Barb
