Meet Our Pet Sitters

Abby.jpg

ABBY

Hi, I’m Abby! I’m a rising sophomore at Christopher Newport University, and a lifelong animal lover. I have a passion for animals, and I feel that it’s important to love your job to be able to succeed. I grew up around animals, and currently have a dog, cat, and two guinea pigs. I’ve pet sat for many of my friends’ and family members’ dogs and cats, and I find it really rewarding to be someone pets look forward to seeing every time! I love knowing that I am giving clients peace of mind while they are away, and this is a wonderful way to feed my passion during spring breaks. I have experience raising puppies, pilling cats, and showing patience to anxious dogs.

My service areas are Herndon and Reston.

ALISON

Hi! I was a longtime client of AFPC, and now that I’m retired from my hectic career, I’m excited to assist busy pet parents with dependable and trustworthy care of their precious companions. This is my way of giving back to those who’ve cared for my pets during my hectic years as a working parent and pet owner. I love and adore animals of all kinds, and dogs are my specialty. I grew up with dogs during my childhood, and now as an adult, I’ve parented three. I fostered two dogs and adopted three from a homeless animal rescue organization. I’ve enjoyed doing basic training with my fur babies, and most of all, I love being outdoors walking with my beloved companions.

I find pleasure and peace with animals of all kinds and enjoy the interaction with other pet owners. There is so much to learn from the experiences of others and interacting with their pets! I have experience with puppies, senior dogs and all ages in between.  I can administer/dispense basic meds. I can walk, feed, play, assist with training, and provide affection to your pets, and I’m very familiar with handling raw and wet foods.

My main service areas are Chantilly, Fair Oaks, Fair Lakes, South Riding, and Franklin Farms.

ANGEL

Hi! I'm a longtime client of AFPC. I live in Ashburn with my husband and cat, Mango, who was born in 2009 (his brother Dash, passed in 2024). I've learned so much about cats over the last 15+ years in order to give them their best lives. I've worked with SPCA of NOVA for more than 10 years as a graphic designer and editor for their annual newsletter, which has also been a great source of pet information. I love all animals, but cats are my favorite. I have experience giving cats pills, both with pill pockets and also with a pill-pusher. As someone who is very particular about who watches my cats, you can trust that I will treat you and your furry kids with the same respect, dedication, and attention to detail that I have always appreciated from my AFPC pet sitters.

My schedule is flexible. My preferred service areas are Ashburn, eastern Leesburg, and western Sterling.

Ariel2-web.jpg

ARIEL

Hi! I'm Ariel! I am a lifelong cat and dog owner. I currently share my home with a cat (Simba), dog (Mojo), corn snake (Vesper), and tarantula (Britney Spears). I love all critters, even ones commonly unloved. I love being able to provide peace of mind to pet parents, they know with me I'll be treating their pets like my own. I have experience with oral and topical meds to both cats and dogs, and I am also experienced with senior pets (my lab, Mojo, is 12!).

My service areas are Brambleton and Ashburn.

AMY

Hello!  I have been a pet sitter with AFPC since August 2015, but I've have been a cat owner for over 30 years, and currently have four cats of my own.  I primarily focus on pet sitting cats, but I have enjoyed caring for dogs occasionally as well.  I love learning each pet's unique personality, and how I can best make them happy and comfortable while they are in my care.  I am skilled at giving medications, including oral and topical meds, insulin injections, as well as subQ fluids.  I also have lots of experience with senior pets.

My service areas are Centreville, Chantilly, and some parts of South Riding and Fairfax.

BARBARA

Hi! I'm Barbara! I've been around animals my whole life: horses, dogs, cats, birds, reptiles - I've cared for them all! I love meeting new pets - each one is different, and I love bringing out their individual personalities. My own cats are my children, and my friends say they live in the Kitty Taj Mahal. I look forward to meeting your pets, and treating them royally as well.

My service areas are: most of Woodbridge, Montclair, and Occoquan.

BETSY

Hi, I'm Betsy!  I was a longtime client of AFPC until Sep 2018, when my beloved cat, Baby, passed away.  I feel that being a client gives me a unique advantage now as a pet sitter, as I know what I expected as a client, and can translate that into my own service as a pet sitter.  My own cat was a senior, and required oral medication, so I became quite skilled at that process. I am a retired teacher who specialized in educational programming for special needs students, and I am very gentle and responsive.

I have always enjoyed meeting new pets, and noticed that all of the pets I have known have had distint personalities.  Meeting new pets is like meeting new friends!  I look forward to making friends with your pets, and I'll strive to offer them a professional and compassionate pet sitter.

I live in and service the Alexandria area.

Bonnie-web.jpg

BONNIE

Hi, I'm Bonnie! I've grown up with pets: a standard poodle when I was a kid, Henri, I will never forget him. My (now grown) children grew up with a black lab, Tootsie...she was the heart of our family, such a sweet girl. We spent 15 years with her. I spent a few years doing midday dog walks and pet sits, and after the loss of Tootsie, I started an overnight business in my home: Bow Wow Bed & Breakfast. I hosted many dogs in my home for many years. This fulfilled my love for dogs because I was not yet ready to have another dog after the loss. We had wonderful dogs come through the house for years, which was very healing. I love working as a pet sitter because animals are very grounding. Taking care of pets just gives me joy. I also love the daily walks!! I am able to give insulin injections, I have also cared for blind dogs. I have cared for many senior dogs over the years. Patience is always key for these old, sweet souls. I am always active - I'm a hiker, biker and kayaker. I am trustworthy and reliable. I have yet to meet an animal that I couldn't care for. My daily happy place is with your pet.

My service areas are Sterling and Herndon.

7_5_2018_Carey.JPG

CAREY

I just recently joined AFPC as a pet sitter, but I have worked as a vet tech for over 20 years! I grew up with dogs, and currently have two furry kids (i.e. dogs) of my own. Pets are an integral part of my life - they bring me so much happiness and joy!

I am reliable, caring, and treat each and every pet as if they were my own. I always think about how I'd want my pups taken care of, and strive to meet and exceed expectations. I am experienced at giving subQ fluids, insulin injections, and oral meds, and I am especially skilled at dealing with senior pets.

My service areas are Sterling, Herndon, Reston, Great Falls, and Ashburn. I look forward to meeting your furry kids soon!

CINDY S.

Hello! I have over 20 years’ experience in pet care, with a variety of breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I’ve owned dogs my entire life,  and have developed a strong sense of canine behavior. I grew up with large breed dogs and enjoyed every minute of it, from walking, playing, feeding, and snuggling on the couch. As an adult, of course I got my very own dog! I rescued her from HART, and it was an amazing feeling knowing she would now be given the life she deserved.

I love being a pet sitter because I get to care for all different types of animals! All the personalities that come out when you really get familiar with your client’s pet. I have cared for cats, puppies, adult, and senior dogs. I also have experience with Parrots. In addition to my pet care experience, I have excellent communication skills – with pet owners AND their pets! Any client that I am working for knows that I will care for any pet as if they were my own. I love them all!

My service areas are Fairfax and Fairfax City.

DAN

Growing up we always had at least one dog & cat in our house. I had access to a farm through a friend of my dad, outside of my hometown of Rochester, NY. Cows, pigs, chickens, roosters, farm dogs and cats. It was spectacular!

I love working as a pet sitter and seeing the sheer joy on the faces of my little friends when I show up. I let all of my clients know that their pets are going to be cared for in the way they are used to. I treat them as if they are my own. I’m have experience giving insulin shots, hydrating senior pets, and manage multiple cats or dogs.

My wife and I have 3 cats and a young Golden Retriever named Roger. Roger and our youngest kitty, a blind tabby named Wyatt, are best friends. Our other two cats are Abyssinian, named Blue & Kiera.

In my spare time (haha) I coach varsity lacrosse at South Lakes High School for The Mighty Seahawks.

My primary service areas are Herndon, Reston, and Sterling. I look forward to meeting your furry friends

soon!

DANA

My name is Dana and I started working for AFPC in 2012 when I went back to school for my Master's degree. I love visiting with all pets (especially cats but I have some great bird friends too!) as they are all so innocent and calming in nature (well my cats are not, but that's another story!) I live in Sterling with my husband and two cats, Turbo & Nitro.

I currently service just the Sterling, VA area.

Emily photo.jpg

EMILY

I have been working with animals since I was too young to remember. My first job as a little girl was walking my neighbor’s dogs every day after school. After college I continued my pet sitting passion while working full time. I went from pet sitting and dog walking to training dogs for a couple years. In 2022 I had a baby and took a break. Now that my kids are in daycare/school during the day, I have more time to continue my passion and care for pets. I also have a dog of my own named Dewey.

I love getting in some snuggle time and play time with my furry friends! For about a year, I volunteered in Fairfax County Animal shelter and loved spending time with the animals. I am so excited to get to know your fur babies so they can be my best friend for life!

My service areas are Fairfax and Burke

New-Erica.jpg

ERICA

I joined AFPC in April 2018, and I love my job! I have a lifelong love for animals that goes back to childhood. I've pet sat for family and friends throughout the years, including my brother-in-law's dog Prada (in the picture with me). Over the years I've had a wide variety of pets: dogs, cats, guinea pigs, hamsters (I had 16 at once!), and especially small birds such as finches, doves and parakeets. I've learned a ton through my friendship with our local animal warden. We've adopted pets through her several times, and she's helped me gain experience with a variety of pets throughout the years.

My service area is Fairfax, Falls Church, Annandale, and Arlington.

Gray2-web.jpg

GRAY

Hi! I am a lifelong animal lover. Growing up I had a rabbit and a dog, along with a variety of parakeets, ducklings, anoles, and even tadpoles. I am currently owned by two cats: a dilute calico named Cardamom, who is slowly learning to like people, and a gray named Thor, who is your friend already. I love working as a pet sitter! I enjoy meeting people’s pets and making sure they feel loved while their people are away. I’m good with shy cats, helping to bring them out of their shell. I can also give pills and trim claw.

My service areas are Stone Ridge, Centreville, Fairfax, and Manassas.

8_30_2022_Jalal.jpg

JALAL

Hello! My experience with pets has always been through other peoples' pets, as sadly I've never owned a pet of my own. I do love all animals, dogs and cats and more. I have pet sat for various family and friends in the past, and am looking forward to doing that more often with All Friends Pet Care. The fact that I can do something that I personally enjoy while simultaneously helping out another person and their pets is an amazing thing and a win win!

My service areas are Herndon, Sterling, Reston, and Great Falls.

JIMENA

Hello! This is my second stint with AFPC – I worked here from 2017-2019 and left right before the Covid shutdown. I’m SO happy to be back! I began my animal care journey ten years ago when I became certified as a veterinary assistant and animal behaviorist. I have worked as a vet assistant, as well as a supervisor at a dog/cat hotel, and a shift lead and dog trainer at a doggie daycare. I have worked in several rescues as a transport driver and technician. I have been a dog walker and pet sitter for ten years as well! I absolutely love the opportunity to get to know every pet I visit, creating a deep connection and amazing bond. I am able to give insulin injections, IV fluids, oral/topical medications, and much more.

Hello! My name is Joseph, and I enjoy spending time in nature, especially with our furry friends! Some of my other interests include growing Bonsai trees as well as flowers. Julia-WEB.jpg

JULIA

Hi! I’m Julia and I recently graduated from Virginia Tech! I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life and currently have two dogs of my own. In addition to being a lifelong pet owner, I worked at Olde Towne Pet Resort for two years working with both dogs and cats. I also worked at Pender Veterinary Center for two years, where I gained experience in a veterinary setting providing care for dogs, cats and even exotic animals! I also provided pet care through Rover for numerous clients while in college. Through these roles, I have cared for dogs of all sizes, ages and temperaments. In addition, I have experience caring for backyard chickens and owned pet rats growing up, which helped develop my comfort and confidence around a variety of animals. I love building relationships with both pets and their owners. Every animal has a unique personality and it’s rewarding to earn their trust while giving owners peace of mind knowing their pets are receiving excellent care while they’re away. I’ve always been an animal lover and can’t imagine life without pets. Growing up with dogs and caring for a variety of animals has taught me how important it is to be patient, attentive and adaptable to each pet’s needs. I look forward to meeting your pets and giving them lots of love, attention and care while you’re away!

My service areas are Sterling, Herndon, Reston, and Great Falls.

Karen-M-web.jpg

KAREN M.

I have had pets my entire life and currently have two of my own, so caring for animals has always been a big part of life. I am very attentive to their health, safety, and overall well-being, and I understand how important consistency and trust are when it comes to pet care. In addition to caring for my own pets, I volunteer with the Homeless Animals Rescue Team (HART), where I have gained experience working with animals from a variety of backgrounds, including those who may be anxious, shy, or adjusting to new environments. This has helped me develop strong skills in reading animal behavior, understanding different personalities, and responding calmly and appropriately in different situations. I also assisted my foster dog during the birth of seven puppies! I also provide pet sitting and dog walking for friends and family. My responsibilities have included feeding, administering medications, walking, bathing, playtime, and maintaining pets’ normal routines while their owners are away. I take pride in providing attentive, reliable care and ensuring pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I truly go above and beyond for all the pets I care for. I truly enjoy the connection I build with each pet. Every animal is different, and I love learning about their personalities, routines, and what makes them feel happy and secure. It’s especially rewarding to care for pets that may be shy or anxious and see them become more comfortable over time. Honestly, what’s not to love? I get to spend my time with animals—going on walks, playing, and enjoying plenty of cuddle time. It’s a positive, drama-free environment that I genuinely enjoy being a part of.

My main service areas are Centreville, Chantilly, Fairfax, Herndon, and parts of Reston.

Krishna-web.jpg

KRISHNA

Hi, I'm Krishna! I have been around animals my entire life and currently help care for three family dogs: a Husky, a Beagle, and a Chihuahua. Two of my dogs are rescues, which has given me experience working with pets that may be shy, anxious, or need extra patience to build trust. As someone who has a reactive Chihuahua, I have also learned how to recognize body language, respect boundaries, and handle challenging behaviors calmly and safely.

In addition to caring for dogs, I have experience caring for cats ranging from young kittens to adult cats with a variety of personalities. I have regularly pet-sat for neighbors, friends, and family members, providing feeding, walks, playtime, medications, litter box cleaning, and lots of love and attention.

As a pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pets and your home. I know that pets are family, and I strive to provide the same level of care, patience, and attention that I would want for my own animals. My goal is to make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while giving owners peace of mind when they are away. When I'm not spending time with animals, I enjoy being outdoors, staying active, and spending time with family and friends. I look forward to meeting you and your pets soon!

My service areas are Leesburg, Ashburn, and Sterling.

Lauren photo.jpg

LAUREN

Hi, I'm Lauren! I'm a lifelong animal lover with experience caring for cats, dogs and even birds. I've had cats my whole life, and my current fur baby is 12 years old - she's been through surgeries and medication routines, so I'm comfortable with special care and keeping pets happy and healthy. I also grew up with dogs and often care for family pups, so I know how important exercise, playtime, and companionship are.

Whether it's daily walks, playtime, feeding, or medication, I treat every pet like my own - with patience, love and a little spoiling. I look forward to meeting your furry family member soon!

My service areas are Reston, Herndon, Sterling, and Ashburn.

MELODY

I am a Herndon resident who has been surrounded by animals and pets from all across the animal kingdom for my entire life! My approach to animal care is informed by research, principle, and practical experience. Right now, my household pets include cats and dogs; in the past, it included fish, snails, aquarium shrimp, a snake, a cockatiel, and a tailless whip-scorpion! I love the experience of getting to know a pet, as it is different every time – the responsibility and privilege of caring for them, each and every single of them, is its own reward! I have experience with senior animals and can reliably administer pill pockets, eye/ear drops, and powdered medication.

My service areas include Herndon, Sterling, Reston, and Ashburn.

Paige.jpg

Paige

Hi, I'm Paige! I'm a rising sophomore at Lees - McRae College in North Carolina, and I'm excited to work as a pet sitter during my school breaks. I have pet sat for numerous family members, friends, and neighbors. Spending time with all the animals is always enjoyable. I adore them, whether they are small puppies or larger breeds, and cats. I have energetic, cleaver dogs, a guinea pig and a frog that I care for deeply. Taking care of all these animals and showering them with love and playtime brings me joy!

I truly enjoy forming genuine connections with animals. Whether it is a dog that greets me by the door all excited or a cat that learns to trust me, that is something precious and rewarding in that. Like people, each pet has their own personalty , and getting to know those personalities makes visits so much fun. It is the companionship that you can get out of caring for someone else's pets. I have experience with senior pets because one of my own dogs is at that age, and so have some of the pets I have cared for are as well. I have administered medication to plenty of dogs and some cats too. And, fun fact about me: I love cows!

My service areas are Fairfax, Reston, Herndon, Centreville and Chantilly.

RUTH

I have been a vacation pet sitter for All Friends since 2006. I LOVE my kitty and pup customers! I always look forward to taking care of them and miss them if I haven’t seen them in a while. Animals are so important to our families. They add so much to our lives, entertain us, heal us, listen to us (well, sometimes ;) and LOVE us. There is nothing like unconditional love! I have had animals all my life and will always have my furry family members – can’t imagine life without them. My children have animals as well. Family gatherings often end up with six people, ten dogs and a couple of cats :D In the photo with me are my pups: Rudy – blond scruffy, Tommy T - little black dog on my lap, Rosie – Beagle squished next to me, Dorothy – curly gray girl, and Wiggly Joe – the flash on the arm jumping up/or maybe off . . . We have fun!!!

TERI

Hi, I’m Teri, and I have been pet sitting and dog walking since 2000. When I was laid off from my computer job of 20+ years, I decided I needed a change from sitting behind a desk all day. Becoming a pet sitter was the best career change I could have made! I get to spend time with my new best friends, outside walking or inside playing, receiving unconditional love, and seeing smiling faces or a wagging tail every time I arrive. I work best with small/mid-size or middle-aged/senior pets.  I've given oral medication to cats and dogs as well as insulin shots or fluids to my cat friends in need.  I lost my last cat a couple years ago and truly miss him. So when I visit your furry family member, they get all my stored up love and affection and are treated as if they were my own; they become part of my family too. I can't wait to meet your pet!
